Doodle for January :

Here is simple ink doodle that
I created last year...
It has a bit more personality with the
cute "postage stamp" frame.
Hope you enjoy!

"Spring Obsession" here I come!

Earlier this month I submitted a painting that I
created just for an art competition.
I was so thrilled to be accepted!

"Spring Illuminance", 24x36, acrylic
So this Spring I'll be joined with several other artists
competing for their title at the
for the
"15th Annual Spring Obsession Art Competition."
This will be an extra special weekend for me, as my mother and grandmother will be coming along.

Studio Update: loving my new space!

I'm starting off the New Year with many projects
to build my art business, and to save money is necessary while I accomplish them.
So I've moved out of my lovely large studio at The Alameda Artworks
and into my custom built space in my home garage.
Again, I have the most generous husband who put it all together for me;
mind you, he had to give up some of his prime real-estate in his workspace
to make this happen for me!
It has everything I need for now.
My garage is just as cold as my old studio, but when I open the garage door
and let the sunshine in, it's much more pleasant to work in.

Even though I still have some more organizing to do,
I really love how it all turned out.

Doodle Time!

December's Doodle:

Hope everyone is busy
getting ready for
Christmas!

This is a doodle I made while killing time at work...
shhhh don't tell! :)

I'm not sure what to call it,
but colorful and a little whimsical.

Doodle for November!

Here is an ink drawing I did one day.
My background is in architecture, so every once in awhile I dream up some cute bungalows.

Enjoy!

Open Studios - Nov. 2011

My first Open Studios at The Alameda Artworks
was a great experience.

Thanks to all my family and friends that were able to attend.
I also met some wonderful people who visited
and purchased my art over the weekend.
It is so enriching and satisfying to hear
positive feedback on my work...it keeps me going. :)
This was a chance for me to get to know the other artists better,
and see their artwork as well.  There is such a huge variety of styles and awesome talent in those studios.  I'm so grateful to be a part of this.

A special thanks goes to my husband who worked so hard installing the wood molding on my gallery walls.  Don't they look great?!

Doodle of the Month - something new to share!

:Doodle of the Month:

"OCTOBER"
I love to draw in my spare time...
O.K. most of the time,
what creative soul doesn't?

These are simple illustrations with pen and ink, that are inspirations to something more and greater in their future....
So for October,

I choose a pumpkin and

a blossom, of course. :)

Each month I'll post a new doodle to enjoy;
they are fun and addictive!
