Art Ark Gallery Exhibit :

Happy New Year!

This January through February I will have
a few paintings exhibited in the
Silicon Valley Open Studios - "Sneak Preview"
at the Art Ark Gallery in San Jose.

The funny thing about the paintings I had planned on showing
for the Art Ark Gallery is....

My exhibit at the Top Nosh Cafe was ending soon,
and I had planned to show one of the large
paintings from the cafe ("Veranda" shown below),
but low and behold,
I got this wonderful email from someone interested
in buying it!

So thank goodness I had a large canvas primed with texture
all ready to paint!
Note to myself: Always be ready for the unexpected!!

I thought "Veranda" was not going to sell by now,
and I would be able to show it again. :)

The family that bought it for their beautiful home
couldn't be any nicer.  I hope they send me
a photo when they hang it up!

While my art was on display at Top Nosh Cafe,
I sold another painting to a wonderful person.

She wanted to buy "Fiesta Bloom" for her boyfriend
for Christmas.  They both go to Top Nosh Cafe
frequently and he had admired this painting.
So this was a special treat for me to meet her
and be part of a great gift!

I always love meeting the people who like my
art...words can't describe the personal happiness I get!

NEW WORK ! :

I am excited to share some new work!

These paintings capture
my abstract botanical style.

I loved working
with the hues of citron and amber,
and always my favorites: sage & olive green.
Then I explored the vivid jewel tones as well!

They are currently for sale and on display
from Nov. - Dec.
in downtown Willow Glen
at the Top Nosh Cafe.

This painting sold to a very dear friend of mine!

Studio | Work in Progress :

It's been a busy month for me....again

There are a few upcoming shows and exhibits in my near future
that I need to prepare for . . .

Honestly, the past several months have been the most
productive for me - ever!
This is what I have strived for!  It's hard work!

I also work part-time in the interior/architectural field as well,
so the time I am actually free to spend in my studio
is ever so precious!
Working as a designer and an artist is the perfect balance
for me personally.
I consider myself pretty lucky! :)

But back to the studio
Here a couple of new paintings to share:

50|50 SHOW : My accomplishment!

My summer was happily consumed by creating
my 50 small works
for the Sanchez Art Center's 6th Annual 50|50 Show!!

URBAN BOTANICALS | No. 50

The entire process has been so amazing and rewarding
as an artist.
From meeting some of the other artists in the show,
to challenging myself to complete all of my small paintings
in the allotted time, and most importantly,
feeling satisfied and proud of my finished work.

The opening was last weekend in Pacifica.
My family came to support me on this amazing experience!
We were amazed by what we saw in the galleries,
from traditional style of paintings to abstracts, print making, collages,
photography, ceramics, wood designs and more.
It was so inspiring to see how other artists create!

I wanted to share some photos of my collection, I call
"Urban Botanicals" - abstracts from the garden:

final glazes before varnishing

Here I am labeling the back of each panel according to the grid layout

It's time to pack them up for install day!

Sanchez Art Center provided us a grid layout to nail from

Keeping them straight!
Almost done!

I created this to go along side my Bio and Artist Statement
Bronze texture close-ups!

Loving the teal glaze on this texture detail!

Here are a few of my 50 paintings:

Villa Montalva :

Yesterday, I participated in a wonderful event at the
in Saratoga, CA

I was invited to be one of the artists
to do live painting for

We all braved the heat that day
and enjoyed a casual afternoon on the grounds
of an historic villa.

There was music performed by the talented Chris Reed,
and an art exhibit by the amazing visual artist Tulio Flores.
 Myself and other local artists
set up our tables and easels on the lawn.
-unfortunately, I didn't take more photos during the event!

This was a really fun experience for me,
working on a new painting in such
an inspiring environment.

I didn't finish my painting,
maybe because the glazes were not drying
as quickly from the humidity, or
I had too much fun mingling with the guests & other artists!

My daughters and I plan to return to the
Villa Montalvo soon to hike the trails.

It has alot of eye candy for me to see
from the architectural details, to
the artist projects created throughout
the grounds, the large old trees,
flowers and succulents galore,
and more I haven't seen yet!

I want to thank both Chris and Tulio
for an amazing afternoon!
